Quality Education March 23, 2022 by kelly Home » ESGs » Quality Education The Formosa-Tejano Wetlands Education Center hosted Calhoun County Independent School District (CCISD) fifth and seventh graders this month. Located near La Ward, Texas, the Education Center is part of a decade-long partnership between Formosa Plastics and CCISD to provide hands-on instruction in the areas of environmental and natural science. Students also learn how to use science equipment including: microscopes, binoculars, collection nets, and water quality kits. The environmental education experiences conducted at the Education Center are aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) state curriculum to reinforce concepts and lessons learned in the classroom. The Education Center serves approximately 800 students each year.
