Climate Action

On the International Day of Forests, we are proud to share that we are partnering with One Tree Planted in its reforestation efforts in Butte County, California. Butte was among the greatest impacted areas by the 2020 Dixie Fire, and our support will translate to 1,350 trees being planted within the Butte-Yuba-Sutter Watershed, located within the Sacramento Valley Watershed. Restoration will improve the soil microbiome, nesting for threatened and endangered species, and habitat for flora and fauna. Planting will also address the potential loss of the ecosystem caused by high fire intensity that compromises the soil quality.

The Formosa Agricultural and Environmental Research Center (AERC) in Point Comfort, Texas has also been busy with a tree-planting initiative. In 2021, Formosa planted more than 500 trees from 11 different native species on our property in Texas. We plan to plant thousands of additional trees over the next five years.
