Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A. (Formosa) is a growing, vertically-integrated supplier of plastic resins and petrochemicals. With annual revenues of more than $4 billion, we employ over 2,100 people who operate 18 production units in six Business Divisions - Polyolefins, Vinyl, Specialty Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), Chlor-Alkali, Olefins and Oil & Gas.
We are committed to supplying the highest quality products and services to our customers, providing a safe and healthy workplace for our employees and contributing to the quality of life in the communities where we operate.
This commitment is made possible through our dedicated people, consistent products, continued protection of the environment and ongoing investments in new product development, quality control systems and production facilities.
We market our polypropylene and polyethylene resins under the Formolene® tradename; we market our suspension PVC and specialty (dispersion) PVC resins under the Formolon® tradename. We also produce and sell caustic soda, ethylene dichloride and hydrochloric acid. |
Formed in 1978, Formosa is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries, located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.
One important way in which we differentiate ourselves in our marketplaces is through the extensive vertical integration of our supply chain. We produce oil and gas through our subsidiary Neumin Production Company, transport these raw materials through our subsidiary Lavaca Pipeline Company and process natural gas into its components through our subsidiary Formosa Hydrocarbons Company. In addition, many products are delivered to our customers through our own fleet of large, modern railcars.
Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A. is affiliated with the Taiwan-based Formosa Plastics Group (FPG), a global leader in petrochemicals, plastics and a variety of other industries. Founded in 1954, FPG has grown from what was then the world's smallest PVC production facility into a worldwide organization with annual sales of more than $50 billion. FPG also operates several prominent educational and medical institutions in Taiwan. Worldwide, FPG has more than 89,000 employees and assets in excess of $60 billion.
