Community Involvement - 'First Point Blitz Build'

In 2007 we pulled out all the stops by building an entire house, from slab through to near move-in condition, in just seven days. Over 40 volunteer employees from Texas, Louisiana, New Jersey and Delaware devoted their time and effort to create a new home for a deserving family.

You can track our progress, and see our fine people in action, in the following collections of photos and videos:

The outpouring of support from the community and local businesses was overwhelming. We thank the City of Point Comfort, Habitat For Humanity of Calhoun County, our dedicated Blitz Build Crew, and all of our sponsors and contributors, without whom this amazing fete of humanity would not have been possible.

A special thank-you goes to Mr. Jeff Underwood and Mr. Alvin Downs, who also contributed their time and valuable experience to make the effort a huge success.

We, and the new homeowners, are grateful for the generosity of these volunteers, the local community and the multitude of businesses and organizations in the area who contributed to the effort's success.

One week. One home. One dream.
